Knotting Hill

Natural deformed and sawn surface.
Similar to the Shrunk collection, the structure of this lively and extra rustic oak collection is based on a naturally deformed and subtly brushed surface. Contrary to regular engineered flooring, lumber with a relative high humidity level is cut to wear layers, and then let to dry. This results in natural ‘shrunken’ surface undulations around the characteristic cracks, end-cracks and knots. The cross marks from bandsawing the wearlayers is maintained and forms an import feature of Knotting Hill flooring. Subsequently a selection of the knots and cracks are hand-scraped and partially filled to enhance the aged character of the floor.
